New for Fall

Fall is just around the corner and i know we are all excited about it...what a HOT summer this has been? Yesterday my Mom and I went shopping which is one of our favorite things to do when we can. I tried to be good with my spending and i think i did fairly well, i got a pair of red wedges for $15(had been $40) and a gorgeous pair of wedges for a wedding we are attending this weekend for $30 (had been $60). My mom found some great deals as well cute shorts and tops for our family beach trip in a few weeks.

As we were shopping i couldn't help but look around to see what was going to be popular for Fall. I am in love, Color is still going to be huge this fall. Here are a few pics of some the fall fashions we saw

Vacay New York style continued......

OK so continuing on our Trip through upstate New York......where was I??? Oh yes...Day four. OK Y'all, you know how some of you may have a bucket list??? Well a bucket list is a list of things or places you may want to see or do in your lifetime, things you want to accomplish.  Niagara Falls is one thing i can now cross off my bucket list! :) Yes, I got to see the falls, we had lunch the day before with Matt's step dad Dan, he grew up in Buffalo and when we were talking to him about what we may be doing, i told him i would love to go to Niagara! Well i think he hinted big to Matt to take me.

I was soooooo excited when i woke up the day we were going. I picked out a wonderfully cute outfit...my favorite dark skinny jeans from American Eagle (turned up on the bottom to created a cropped look) a coral top from The Renn's Nest, ties to the side which is super cute on! I wore a Lindsay Phillips scarf that had all colors, but mostly to match with the coral in my shirt. (Lindsay Phillips is the one who makes my snap shoes you can change and yes she has scarfs also....super cute)

Getting ready to hit the road
And of course i had to accent with Gold jewelry and shoes :)) Coral and Gold very hot color combo for the summer ;) Before i show you some pics...i just have to say we made a pit stop in Buffalo to eat lunch, we had wings at The Anchor Bar, home to the very 1st Buffalo wings. Yes we had wings and after filling our bellies....on the road headed Northwest we went! The excitement was killing me, couldn't wait to see the falls.

Niagara Falls bound
Wing Time

As we got closer to the Falls i could see what looked like a big cloud of steam from a factory or plant, but that was the mist from the waterfalls, it was an amazing site when we finally got there....i have never been in so much awe of how beautiful nature could be. Absolutely breathtaking. We walked around and enjoyed the view, took lots of pictures and of course went to the gift shop :) I had a wonderful time and was so happy to mark off a goal on my bucket list. Here are some pictures from that day....

After this long but exciting day....our last full day in New York was awesome as well! We spent the morning, in Corning. Corning is known for the Corning Museum of Glass....they make all kinds of things that involve glass all over the world. Matt's aunt Cindy works there, and Cait his sister is working there for the summer. It really is a cool place, Matt's Aunt Cindy was nice enough to buy us an item we could make out of glass. That was an interesting but cool experience, Cait and I made glass flowers, and Matt made an ornament. I didn't really dress to impress on this day because after we left Corning we were headed to hike Watkins Glen. However, y'all know me, i had to look somewhat cute. I kept it simple and causal. I just bought i new pair of running shoes, they are black with neon orange and fuchsia strings and writing, so i just wore a plain black tee, with hot pink shorts. Not much Jewelry only because, i knew we were gonna get hot and we were hiking. :)

The Glen was so beautiful, there was small to large waterfalls, gorges, streams, mountains, and gorgeous views. It was another breathtaking moment. We went hiking with Cait and i so enjoyed our day together. Y'all know me, i cant leave you without pictures from this day.

After a wonderful week of traveling and spending time with Matt's family and friends....we were sad to say Goodbye....:( But we will see them again soon! :) To end the perfect week we headed back down south for a little R&R at the beach with my family before heading on home! Best vacation ever.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK

OK y'all so i know i haven't blogged in a while...i promise i haven't forgot about y'all. :) I have been super busy...but life has slowed down for now. I just recently went on a trip to New York with Mr. Matt.

I know when people think of NY they think of the city, the lights, the tourist attractions, and the skyscrapers. But upstate New York is absolutely gorgeous. That's where we were visiting, Matt's Mom and her family live near Syracuse, however we stayed with his grandmother (Lorraine) and Aunt (Cindy) in a smaller town called "Horseheads" :) Y'all i just have to say the mountains and the way you can see for miles and miles and see only farms is breathtaking. I was so grateful to have spent the week with Matt's Family and all while traveling and sightseeing as well. Oh and y'all know me....I Had to SHOP!! ( That was one of the to-do's before we even got up there) So this is how the story goes of our week in New York.

(Eddie in front, Bailey to the right,
Ms Lorraine on the left, Cait behind her,
Me and Matt)                            (Matt, his aunt Cindy, & I)

Keep in mind we drove all the way from little bitty Unionville to New York, but it actually wasn't too bad of a drive...great scenic route. We visited with his family the first day we were there and oh how i love them. I had to take all the ladies a lil something special, from the Renn's Nest of course. :) It was nice to relax and play yard games and enjoy the company....below is a picture of what i wore the first day we were there...i was so excited because it was perfect with what we were doing and for the weather...i got the sweater and skirt on sale (as always) at American Eagle...i wanted to pair it with gold jewelry so i also added my Lindsay Phillips Gold snap shoes to help pop the Gold :)

Day Two was Memorial day so we had lots of fun things planned. We had a fun day on top of this, what i would call a mountain but they called it Harris Hill. We played putt putt, Matt hit a few golf balls, we raced go carts, and Matt had some quality brother sister time with Eddie and Bailey in the Batting cages. It was awesome, couldn't have asked for a better day. We came home to a picnic lunch that day, and as we were winding down, Cindy asked if I would like to go to the mall....well we all know the answer...i said Yes. So she and I , along with Eddie and Bailey went to their local mall. They have a lot of the same stores up there as they do down here, however, they had a Bon Ton. That is like a New York, Belk's. I bought the cutest Seahorse ring, Miss Bailey helped me pick it out :) I decided to dress cute and comfortable that day, because i knew we would be doing lots of fun things. I decided to wear a cute Hot pink ruffle tank layered with a plain white tank underneath. It was hot that day, so i opted to wear navy Tommy Hilfiger shorts. I also have a pair of navy snap shoes like my gold ones, so i put those with the outfit. I didn't wear much jewelry only because we were doing some many activities :) Here are a few pics of Matt and I and his family at the top of Harris Hill :)

 awwwwww
Love this pic with Eddie and Bailey
                                          Let's go Racing :))
We ended day two on a good note we had supper with Cait, Matt's sister. Ah what a great day.
                                         (Bailey, Cait and I )

Day three was jam packed with lots of fun things to do. We got up and drove straight to Ithaca, its an eclectic town know for Cornell University. That was about an hour away from Horseheads, so we got to enjoy the scenery.  Ithaca was cool, very UNIQUE, very hippish. We went shopping in what they call the commons, its different kinds of stores, small businesses, locally owned. I did some shopping for my mom, found a great scarf and cute peace sign earrings. My mom and step dad love listening to music so i got them some records from a really cool music store. (Yes i actually mean records, the big black round vinyl things. lol ) i didn't really find anything for myself, very hard to imagine. LOL

We met Dan, Matt's Step dad for lurch at a great Thai food restaurant. Then we were on the open road again. Matt took me to Cortland, where he went to college, and then we wound up in Dryden his hometown. We had supper with his Mom, sisters, and brother. He showed me around town and it was so neat that he lived that close to town but it was still considered country. (It's the little things that amaze me. haha) I wanted my outfit for the day to be cute, so i purchased this awesome little top at Anthropologie just before we left on our trip. I love that store but it so expensive...so i was very happy when i snagged the top for $19.99 :)) The top is navy with a floral print, quarter length sleeves and a tie to the side, the flowers have lots of color so i pulled out the pink and wore pink shorts, along with navy shoes and my new gold jewelry. Turned out to be very cute and casual. :)

On the commons in Ithaca
Driving through the countryside leaving Cortland, heading toward Dryden
 Matt & His sweet family
One of my favorite pics of us

After a long fun day and a wonderful supper, we went down to the Dryden Hotel. It's a local spot to hang out with friends or even stay there. The top floor is a hotel and the bottom floor has tables and you can order food, or have drinks, there is a pool table. Very cool place. We were meeting some of Matt's friends there, well i had to do a wardrobe change. I didn't want his friends to meet for the first time without looking great. So i put on my white Cabi jeans, (love Cabi stuff, kind of pricey, but luckily i have a sweet friend who gave me those) I put this really cute ruffled top with a Kelly green tank underneath. I didn't want the jeans to drag the ground, because they are long, so i wore some white wedges with gold embellishments. Gold is making a huge comeback, so if you hear me talking alot about gold accessories that is why. I wore my gold hoop earrings, and a gold bangle bracelet. :) It was awesome meeting his friends, they were very laid back and so much fun. Alot like Matt :))

To the left is Matt, his Friend Nick, and his friend who he calls Hansen (Justin)

This is the outfit i wore that night to the right!

So y'all should have seen my suitcases, lol, yes i said suitcases. I had one bag for shoes only, another bag for clothes, and another for everything else. Let's just say a girl can never be too prepared. There is so much more i cant wait to share about our trip, but.......

To Be Continued.................;)
